Effective pharmacovigilance practices are crucial in ensuring medication safety and optimizing therapeutic outcomes within community pharmacy settings. Despite the increasing emphasis on pharmacovigilance, there remains limited empirical data on its implementation and impact at the community level, particularly in smaller-scale pharmacies where resource constraints may hinder comprehensive adverse drug reaction monitoring. This study aims to assess the impact of pharmacovigilance practices at Green Valley Community Pharmacy, focusing on how these practices influence medication safety, healthcare professional awareness, and patient outcomes. The specific objectives include evaluating the current pharmacovigilance procedures, identifying barriers and facilitators to effective adverse drug reaction reporting, and measuring the influence of pharmacovigilance activities on medication safety indicators within the pharmacy. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative cross-sectional design with qualitative thematic analysis. The population comprises licensed pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and patients who utilize Green Valley Community Pharmacy. A sample of 120 healthcare professionals, selected through stratified random sampling, and 200 patients, recruited via systematic sampling, form the core study population. It provides evidence-based recommendations for enhancing pharmacovigilance systems, tailored training modules, and policy frameworks to improve medication safety in community health settings. Furthermore, the study aligns with the Theory of Planned Behavior by exploring how healthcare professionals’ attitudes and perceived control influence pharmacovigilance practices, offering a theoretical foundation for interventions aimed at behavioral change. The main conclusion underscores that strengthened pharmacovigilance practices significantly contribute to safer medication use when supported by adequate training, explicit policies, and efficient reporting mechanisms. Consequently, the study advocates for implementing continuous professional development programs, integrating electronic adverse drug reaction reporting functionalities, and fostering a safety culture within community pharmacies. Future research should assess the longitudinal impact of targeted interventions on pharmacovigilance efficacy in similar settings, thus promoting sustainable medication safety improvements across community pharmacy networks.
