Abstract
This thesis explores the development of novel drug delivery systems to enhance the treatment of chronic diseases. Chronic diseases pose a significant burden on healthcare systems worldwide, necessitating innovative approaches to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. The research focuses on the design and evaluation of advanced drug delivery systems that can overcome existing limitations in drug administration, such as poor bioavailability, lack of target specificity, and adverse side effects. The study begins with an in-depth review of the background literature on chronic diseases, current treatment modalities, and challenges associated with conventional drug delivery methods. The literature review highlights the need for novel drug delivery systems that can address these limitations and improve therapeutic efficacy. The research methodology encompasses the design and synthesis of various drug delivery systems, including nanoparticles, liposomes, and hydrogels, tailored for specific chronic diseases. Characterization techniques such as spectroscopy, microscopy, and in vitro/in vivo studies are utilized to evaluate the performance and efficacy of these systems. The findings from the experimental studies are discussed comprehensively in Chapter Four, highlighting the key outcomes and insights gained from the research.
