Abstract
This thesis investigates the efficacy and safety of herbal remedies in managing chronic pain. Chronic pain is a complex and debilitating condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide, leading to significant physical, emotional, and socioeconomic burdens. Despite the availability of conventional pharmacological treatments, there is a growing interest in exploring alternative therapies such as herbal remedies due to their perceived effectiveness and potentially fewer side effects. This study aims to provide a comprehensive evaluation of various herbal remedies commonly used for managing chronic pain, examining their mechanisms of action, clinical evidence, safety profiles, and potential interactions with conventional medications. The research methodology involves a systematic review of the existing literature on herbal remedies for chronic pain management. Ten key herbal remedies will be identified and critically evaluated based on their bioactive constituents, pharmacological properties, and clinical trials supporting their efficacy in pain relief. Furthermore, the safety profiles of these herbal remedies will be assessed, including potential adverse effects, interactions with other medications, and contraindications for specific patient populations. The findings from this study will be discussed in detail, highlighting the strengths and limitations of herbal remedies in managing chronic pain. The potential benefits and risks associated with the use of herbal therapies will be critically analyzed, providing valuable insights for healthcare professionals, patients, and policymakers. Additionally, the implications of integrating herbal remedies into conventional pain management strategies will be explored, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. In conclusion, this thesis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on herbal remedies for chronic pain management, shedding light on their efficacy, safety, and clinical relevance.
