The rapid integration of digital learning tools within business education presents both opportunities and challenges for enhancing student engagement and academic performance, yet limited empirical evidence exists regarding their actual impact on undergraduate and postgraduate business students. This study aims to critically examine the influence of digital learning tools—such as learning management systems, interactive simulations, and mobile applications—on students' levels of engagement and academic achievement in business programs. Specifically, the study seeks to determine the extent to which digital tools enhance behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement, and how these, in turn, influence academic performance indicators such as course grades, retention rates, and self-reported learning outcomes. Employing a convergent parallel mixed-methods research design, the study integrates quantitative surveys with qualitative focus group discussions to provide comprehensive insights. The population comprises 1,200 undergraduate and postgraduate business students enrolled across five universities in a metropolitan region, with a stratified random sampling technique used to select a sample of 300 students for quantitative data collection. Based on the findings, the study recommends targeted strategies for educators and institutions, including investing in user-friendly digital platforms, providing digital literacy training, and adopting pedagogical approaches that maximize engagement through innovative digital means. It also emphasizes the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation of digital tool efficacy, tailored support for disadvantaged student groups, and policies fostering a culture of technological integration in business curricula. In conclusion, this research underscores the critical role of digital learning tools in transforming business education by fostering higher levels of student engagement and improved academic performance. It advocates for strategic institutional investments and pedagogical adjustments poised to leverage digital technologies effectively, ultimately contributing to the preparation of business students for a digital economy. Further research is recommended to explore longitudinal effects and the impact across different cultural and institutional contexts.
