However, the extent to which renewable energy adoption impacts productivity, cost efficiency, environmental performance, and overall sustainability remains inadequately understood in the context of regional manufacturing sectors, particularly in developing economies where energy reliability and environmental regulations are evolving. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the socio-economic and environmental impacts of renewable energy implementation in manufacturing industries within the region, with specific objectives to assess the effect of renewable energy on operational costs, analyze changes in environmental emissions, examine the influence on productivity levels, and identify barriers and facilitators to renewable energy adoption in manufacturing firms. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques. The quantitative component uses a cross-sectional survey design, targeting a representative sample of 150 manufacturing firms within the region, selected through stratified random sampling to ensure sectoral and size diversity. The study concludes that fostering collaborative efforts among policymakers, industry stakeholders, and technological providers is essential to maximize the sustainable benefits of renewable energy in manufacturing industries. Suggestions for future research include longitudinal studies to assess long-term impacts and comparative studies across different regions or industrial sectors to generalize the findings further.
