This study addresses the problem of suboptimal performance within Kenyan cooperative poultry flocks by examining how organizational, technical, and socio-economic factors interact to influence production efficiency, net income, and resilience to shocks. The aim is to evaluate the performance determinants of smallholder poultry systems operating under formal and informal cooperatives, with a focus on how collective action, governance, and input support shape outcomes for producers and the broader community.
