Urban renewal projects have been a fundamental aspect of urban planning, aimed at revitalizing deteriorating neighborhoods and improving the quality of life for residents. However, concerns have been raised regarding the potential negative impact of such projects on social equity, particularly in low-income neighborhoods. This thesis examines the impact of urban renewal projects on social equity in low-income neighborhoods, with a focus on understanding the various dimensions of social equity and how they are influenced by these projects. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of demographic data with qualitative interviews and surveys to gather a comprehensive understanding of the topic. The study identified key factors that contribute to social equity, including access to affordable housing, quality education, healthcare services, and employment opportunities. These factors were assessed in the context of urban renewal projects to determine their impact on social equity outcomes. Findings from the study indicate that urban renewal projects have both positive and negative effects on social equity in low-income neighborhoods.
