Urban green spaces play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life and well-being of urban residents. This thesis investigates the impact of urban green spaces on mental health and well-being in urban areas, aiming to provide valuable insights for urban and regional planning strategies. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. The research is guided by the Social-ecological Systems Framework, emphasizing the interconnectedness between urban green spaces, mental health, and well-being. Chapter One introduces the research topic, providing the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review, examining ten key aspects related to urban green spaces, mental health, and well-being. The literature review highlights the existing knowledge gaps and sets the foundation for the empirical research. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and the conceptual framework. The methodology section ensures the rigor and reliability of the study findings. Chapter Four presents the discussion of findings, analyzing the quantitative and qualitative data to explore the impact of urban green spaces on mental health and well-being.
