Abstract
This thesis explores the integration of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies to enhance precision in 3D mapping and monitoring of urban landscapes. The rapid urbanization and development in cities have increased the demand for accurate and up-to-date spatial data for various applications, including urban planning, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure development. Traditional methods of data collection and mapping are often time-consuming, costly, and limited in their ability to capture detailed information over large areas. Hence, there is a growing need for innovative approaches that can overcome these limitations and provide high-resolution spatial data efficiently. The integration of LiDAR and UAV technologies offers a promising solution to address these challenges. LiDAR technology utilizes laser pulses to measure distances and create detailed 3D models of the terrain and objects on the ground, while UAVs provide a flexible platform for capturing aerial images and data over a wide range of spatial scales.
