The integration of virtual assistants in the workplace has revolutionized traditional secretarial practices, offering new opportunities and challenges for organizations. This thesis explores the impact of virtual assistants on modern secretarial practices in the workplace, focusing on how these technological advancements have reshaped the roles and responsibilities of secretaries. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study examines the evolution of secretarial work, the emergence of virtual assistants, and the potential benefits and drawbacks associated with their implementation. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review comprising ten key areas, including the history of secretarial work, the rise of virtual assistants, the impact on job roles, technological advancements, training and skills development, communication and collaboration, data management, security and privacy concerns, organizational implications, and future trends. Chapter Three discusses the research methodology employed in this study, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the methodology.
