Thesis Abstract

Abstract
The relationship between a manager's leadership style and a secretary's productivity is a critical aspect of organizational dynamics. This research project aimed to investigate the impact of different leadership styles exhibited by managers on the productivity of their secretaries. The study utilized a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews to gather data from managers and secretaries in various organizations. The findings revealed that a manager's leadership style significantly influences a secretary's productivity. Transformational leadership was found to have a positive impact on productivity, as it fosters motivation, inspiration, and a shared vision among team members. In contrast, autocratic leadership was associated with lower productivity levels, as it often led to decreased morale and job satisfaction among secretaries. Moreover, the study identified that a manager's communication style played a crucial role in shaping the productivity of their secretary. Effective communication, characterized by clarity, openness, and feedback, was linked to higher productivity levels. In contrast, poor communication, such as vague instructions or lack of feedback, hindered a secretary's ability to perform optimally. Additionally, the research highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in a manager's leadership style. Managers who exhibited high emotional intelligence were more adept at understanding their secretary's needs, providing support, and creating a positive work environment. This, in turn, translated to higher levels of productivity among secretaries. Furthermore, the study explored the role of delegation in a manager's leadership style and its impact on a secretary's productivity. Delegation, when done effectively, empowered secretaries to take ownership of their tasks, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction. However, ineffective delegation, such as micromanagement or lack of clarity, had a negative impact on productivity. Overall, this research contributes to the existing literature by emphasizing the significance of a manager's leadership style in shaping a secretary's productivity. The findings underscore the importance of adopting a transformational leadership approach, enhancing communication skills, fostering emotional intelligence, and practicing effective delegation to optimize secretary productivity in the workplace.
