Effective procurement is critical for manufacturing firms seeking competitive advantage in increasingly complex and dynamic markets. Despite recognition of the strategic importance of supplier relationships, the extent to which supplier relationship management (SRM) influences procurement efficiency remains inadequately explored, particularly within manufacturing contexts. This study aims to empirically assess the impact of SRM practices on procurement efficiency, with specific objectives to examine how supplier collaboration, trust, communication, and performance measurement influence procurement outcomes, and to identify the moderating effects of organizational size and industry type on this relationship. Employing a quantitative research design, the study adopts a cross-sectional survey method to collect primary data from a carefully stratified random sample of 150 top procurement managers and supply chain professionals from manufacturing firms operating in the region. The population is defined by firms with at least five years of operational history, ensuring relevance and data reliability. Data collection instruments comprise a structured questionnaire developed based on validated scales from prior studies, measuring dimensions of SRM practices and procurement efficiency indicators such as lead time reduction, cost savings, quality improvements, and supplier responsiveness. The validity of the instruments is confirmed through expert review and factor analysis, while internal consistency is assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficients exceeding 0.8. The research concludes that robust SRM frameworks are instrumental in enhancing procurement efficiency, leading to cost reductions, improved quality, and increased responsiveness to market changes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that manufacturing firms invest in strategic supplier development programs, adopt transparent communication platforms, and implement comprehensive supplier performance monitoring systems. Future research should explore longitudinal designs to capture dynamic interactions over time and investigate the impact of technological integration, such as supply chain digitalization, on SRM efficacy. Overall, this study underscores the critical role of supplier relationship management as a strategic lever to advance procurement performance in manufacturing sectors.
