Blockchain technology has gained significant attention in recent years for its potential to revolutionize various industries, including supply chain management. This thesis explores the application of blockchain technology in supply chain management through a case study of a retail company. The study aims to investigate the benefits and challenges of implementing blockchain technology in the retail supply chain, with a focus on improving transparency, traceability, and efficiency. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on blockchain technology and its applications in supply chain management. Various studies have highlighted the potential of blockchain to enhance trust, security, and collaboration among supply chain participants. However, there is limited empirical evidence on the actual implementation and impact of blockchain technology in real-world supply chains, especially in the retail sector. The methodology chapter outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques used in the study. A mixed-methods approach is employed, combining qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in the retail company and quantitative analysis of supply chain data.
