In the contemporary era of digitalization, the adoption of e-government services has gained significant attention for its potential to enhance citizen engagement in public administration. This thesis investigates the impact of e-government services on citizen engagement within the public administration context. The study aims to explore the relationship between e-government services and citizen engagement, focusing on how the utilization of digital platforms and technologies can influence the level of citizen participation and involvement in governance processes. The research methodology employed in this study is a mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative techniques to gather comprehensive data. A survey questionnaire will be used to collect quantitative data from a sample of citizens who have interacted with e-government services, while semi-structured interviews will be conducted with key stakeholders in the public administration sector to obtain qualitative insights. The data collected will be analyzed using statistical tools and thematic analysis to identify patterns and trends in the relationship between e-government services and citizen engagement. The literature review section of this thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of existing research on e-government services, citizen engagement, and the intersection of these two areas. The review highlights key theoretical frameworks, empirical studies, and best practices related to e-government implementation and its impact on citizen participation. The theoretical framework for this study is based on the concept of digital government, which emphasizes the use of technology to enhance government-citizen interactions and communication. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on e-government and citizen engagement by providing empirical evidence of the impact of e-government services on citizen participation in public administration. The results will inform policymakers and government officials on the effectiveness of digital platforms in promoting transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in governance processes. Additionally, the study will offer practical recommendations for improving the design and implementation of e-government services to better engage citizens and enhance their involvement in decision-making processes. Overall, this thesis seeks to shed light on the potential of e-government services to transform citizen engagement practices in public administration, ultimately leading to more inclusive and participatory governance systems.
