The 2015 general election: issues, challenges and prospects

Thesis Abstract

This research work on the topic “The 2015 General Election issues, challenges and prospects” tends to cover the detailed information on issues of electoral process as well as challenges and prospects faced by electoral bodies in conducting election and how the above mentioned factors influences the 2015 general election in Nigeria. Therefore, this research comprised of four chapters which shed lights in the aforementioned points and chapters are organized in the following manner

 Chapter one of this project provides a general introduction to the research work, its objective of the study, statement of the problem, research questions, significance of the study, scope and limitation as well as the definition of terms.

 Chapter two essentially deals with the review of relevant literature and the views of scholars in the field of study. It equally provides vivid conceptualization of democratization as well as the conceptualization of election conduct/administration.

 Chapter three extensively deals with the significance of Nigeria 2015 election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and preparation for the 2015 polls as well as the challenges of free election under a democratic dispensation.

 Chapter four focuses on factors influencing the elections, the campaigns & the post-election issues with reference to “the 2015 general election”.

 While the chapter five gives the summary, conclusion and recommendation as well as the references.
