AbstractTerrorism has emerged as a significant challenge to Nigeria, particularly with the rise of the Boko Haram insurgency in the northern region of the country. This research project aims to investigate how terrorism, as exemplified by the activities of Boko Haram, poses a threat to human security in Nigeria. The study will focus on the origins of Boko Haram, its ideology, tactics, and impact on the affected regions. It will also explore the responses of the Nigerian government and international community to counter the threat posed by Boko Haram. The research will employ a case study approach, utilizing both primary and secondary sources of data to provide a comprehensive analysis of the situation. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on terrorism in Nigeria and offer insights into the challenges faced by the country in addressing this menace.
Thesis Overview
<p> This study critically examines and Appraises Terrorism as a Challenge to Nigeria and a Threat to Human Security. The methodology is essentially descriptive and analytical. The data used are derived from two Sources, Primary and Secondary Sources. This study has identified government’s as the sources of underdevelopment, poverty, corruption, religion and deprivation to the causes of insurgencies in the North. Government has given less consideration to human security in the North and this has advantaged Boko Haram to create threat and fear in the psyche of the people. This study however argues that, government needs to overhaul the entire security operations and intelligence of the Nigeria security force, it should also provide programmes to address challenges posed by terror through conflict prevention, peace education should also be inculcated into the school Curriculum and Religious leader must work together to educate their followers in order to tolerate a peacefully cohabitation among themselves. <br></p>Blazingprojects Mobile App
