Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This thesis explores the efficacy of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes for patients with stroke. Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, often resulting in physical impairments that hinder independence and quality of life. Traditional in-person rehabilitation services may be limited in availability and accessibility, particularly in rural or underserved areas. Tele-rehabilitation, which utilizes technology to deliver rehabilitation services remotely, has emerged as a potential solution to overcome these barriers. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation interventions in improving functional outcomes for stroke patients. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to examine existing research on tele-rehabilitation in stroke rehabilitation, including its impact on motor function, activities of daily living, and quality of life. The review revealed promising results, suggesting that tele-rehabilitation can be a viable alternative to traditional in-person therapy for stroke survivors. The research methodology employed in this study includes a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative assessment tools such as standardized outcome measures and qualitative interviews with stroke patients and healthcare providers. The study participants will be recruited from rehabilitation centers and community health facilities, with a focus on evaluating the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation interventions. The findings of this study will contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the use of tele-rehabilitation in stroke rehabilitation. By identifying the benefits and limitations of tele-rehabilitation, this research aims to inform healthcare providers, policymakers, and stakeholders about the potential of integrating tele-rehabilitation into standard stroke care protocols. Overall, this thesis provides valuable insights into the efficacy of tele-rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes for patients with stroke. The results of this study have the potential to influence future practice guidelines and enhance the delivery of rehabilitation services for individuals recovering from stroke.
