Abstract
This thesis investigates the effectiveness of virtual reality rehabilitation in improving functional outcomes in stroke patients through a randomized controlled trial. Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability worldwide, often resulting in significant impairments in functional abilities and quality of life. Traditional rehabilitation methods have limitations in engaging patients and providing personalized, motivating therapy. Virtual reality technology offers a promising alternative by creating immersive and interactive environments that can enhance engagement and facilitate targeted rehabilitation exercises. The study aims to address the gap in the current literature regarding the efficacy of virtual reality rehabilitation for stroke patients. A randomized controlled trial design will be employed to compare the outcomes of stroke patients undergoing virtual reality rehabilitation with those receiving conventional therapy. Functional outcomes, including motor function, balance, activities of daily living, and quality of life, will be assessed before and after the intervention using standardized outcome measures. The literature review provides a comprehensive overview of the current research on virtual reality rehabilitation in stroke patients.
