This thesis investigates the application of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques in mature oil reservoirs to maximize oil production and extend the economic viability of oil fields. The primary focus is on analyzing various EOR methods and technologies that can be employed to improve oil recovery efficiency in mature reservoirs. The study delves into the challenges associated with mature oil reservoirs, such as low oil production rates and declining reservoir pressure, and explores how EOR strategies can address these issues. The research begins with an introduction providing background information on the importance of EOR in mature oil reservoirs. It presents the problem statement, highlighting the need for improved recovery techniques to enhance oil production and prolong the life of mature reservoirs. The objectives of the study are outlined, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of different EOR methods and their applicability to mature oil fields. A comprehensive literature review in Chapter Two examines existing studies and research on EOR techniques for mature reservoirs. The review covers ten key aspects, including water flooding, gas injection methods, chemical EOR, thermal EOR, and emerging technologies.
