Thesis Abstract
Abstract
The advent of automation technologies has had a significant impact on various industries, including the role of secretaries in organizations. This research project aims to investigate the effects of automation on the performance of secretaries in the modern workplace. The study will explore how automation tools such as office software, email management systems, and virtual assistants have influenced the daily tasks and responsibilities of secretaries. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, data will be collected from secretaries working in different organizations to assess the changes brought about by automation. Interviews and surveys will be conducted to gather insights on how automation has affected communication, scheduling, document management, and other key functions traditionally handled by secretaries. The research will also delve into the perception of secretaries towards automation, examining their attitudes and opinions regarding the integration of technology in their work environment. Factors such as job satisfaction, skill development, and job security will be considered to understand the overall impact of automation on the well-being and performance of secretaries. Furthermore, the study will investigate the challenges and opportunities that automation presents for secretaries. While automation can streamline processes and improve efficiency, it may also raise concerns about job displacement and the need for upskilling to adapt to changing job requirements. By exploring these aspects, the research aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of how automation is reshaping the role of secretaries in the contemporary workplace. The findings of this research project are expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on the intersection of technology and administrative roles. By shedding light on the implications of automation for secretaries, organizations can gain valuable insights into optimizing the integration of technology to enhance secretary performance and job satisfaction. Ultimately, this research seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of the impact of automation on secretaries and offer recommendations for effectively managing the transition towards a more automated work environment.
