Abstract
Antibiotic resistance poses a significant threat to public health worldwide, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. This study aimed to investigate antibiotic resistance patterns in bacterial isolates obtained from clinical samples, with a focus on identifying common resistance mechanisms and determining the prevalence of multidrug-resistant strains. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to provide background information on antibiotic resistance, mechanisms of resistance, and current trends in resistance patterns. The research methodology involved collecting clinical samples from various healthcare settings, isolating bacterial strains, and performing antimicrobial susceptibility testing using standard methods. The results revealed a concerning level of antibiotic resistance among the bacterial isolates, with a notable proportion exhibiting resistance to multiple classes of antibiotics. The discussion of findings highlighted the importance of surveillance programs, antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, and infection control measures in combating antibiotic resistance. The study concluded with recommendations for further research and interventions to address the growing problem of antibiotic resistance. This research contributes to the understanding of antibiotic resistance patterns in clinical settings and provides valuable insights for public health efforts to combat this global health crisis.
