Thesis Abstract
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to conduct an appraisal of attitudes and behaviors of elderly people towards television programs. The elderly population represents a significant demographic group that is increasingly engaging with television content. Understanding their attitudes and behaviors towards television programs is important for content creators, marketers, and policymakers. This research aims to explore the preferences, viewing habits, and perceptions of television programs among elderly individuals. A mixed-methods approach will be employed to gather data for this study. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys distributed to a sample of elderly participants from different geographic locations. The surveys will include questions about program genres, viewing times, favorite channels, and overall satisfaction with television content. Qualitative data will be gathered through in-depth interviews with a subset of participants to provide deeper insights into their attitudes and behaviors towards television programs. The findings of this research will contribute to the existing literature on media consumption among the elderly population. By examining the specific preferences and behaviors of elderly individuals towards television programs, this study will provide valuable insights for content creators and broadcasters. Understanding what types of programs are most popular among the elderly can help inform programming decisions and potentially lead to the development of more tailored content for this demographic. Moreover, the research will shed light on the role of television in the lives of elderly individuals and its impact on their well-being. By exploring the attitudes and behaviors of the elderly towards television programs, this study will provide insights into how television viewing can influence social connections, mental stimulation, and overall quality of life for this demographic group. In conclusion, this study seeks to offer a comprehensive appraisal of attitudes and behaviors of elderly people towards television programs. By using a mixed-methods approach, the research aims to provide a nuanced understanding of the preferences, viewing habits, and perceptions of television content among the elderly population. The findings of this study will have implications for content creators, broadcasters, marketers, and policymakers looking to better cater to the needs and preferences of elderly television viewers.
