This study investigates a structured framework for librarian-teacher collaboration to enhance information literacy pedagogy within secondary and tertiary education settings, addressing persistent gaps between library instruction and classroom literacy goals that hinder student information competencies. The aim is to develop and validate a collaborative framework that aligns librarian expertise with teacher instructional planning, assessment practices, and student-centered information literacy outcomes across disciplines. Specific objectives are (1) to identify critical touchpoints for collaboration between librarians and teachers during unit planning, delivery, and assessment; (2) to operationalize a theoretical model integrating social constructivism, Vygotsky’s zone of proximal development, and the Information Literacy Competency Framework to guide collaborative practice; (3) to design a professional development program and collaboration protocols; (4) to evaluate the framework’s feasibility, acceptability, and impact on student information literacy performance; and (5) to propose indicators and scalable mechanisms for sustained implementation.
