Thesis Abstract
Abstract
The utilization of school library resources is a critical factor in enhancing students' academic performance and overall learning outcomes. This research project aims to investigate the extent to which students make use of the resources available in school libraries and how this utilization impacts their educational experience. The study will focus on exploring the types of resources available in school libraries, including books, journals, digital resources, and other educational materials. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data on students' utilization patterns and perceptions of school library resources. The quantitative surveys will be distributed to a sample of students across different grade levels to collect data on the frequency and purpose of their library visits, the types of resources they access, and their satisfaction with the available materials. The qualitative interviews will provide deeper insights into students' attitudes towards library resources, their preferences, and the perceived benefits of utilizing these resources in their academic pursuits. Furthermore, the study will also examine the role of librarians and teachers in promoting the utilization of school library resources. By interviewing librarians and educators, the research aims to identify the strategies and initiatives implemented to encourage students to make better use of library resources. Additionally, the study will investigate any challenges or barriers that students may face in accessing and utilizing library materials, such as limited opening hours, outdated resources, or lack of awareness about available services. The findings of this research project are expected to contribute valuable insights to the field of education and library science. By understanding the factors that influence students' utilization of school library resources, educators and policymakers can develop targeted interventions to promote greater engagement with these valuable educational assets. Improving access to high-quality library materials and fostering a culture of library use among students can lead to enhanced learning outcomes, increased information literacy skills, and a more enriching academic experience for all students. In conclusion, the utilization of school library resources plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic success and fostering a love for lifelong learning. This research project seeks to shed light on the current state of library resource utilization in schools and provide recommendations for optimizing the impact of these resources on students' educational development.
