This thesis investigates the significant role of non-state actors, particularly International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs), in shaping global governance. The study examines the impact and influence of INGOs on international relations, focusing on their contributions to global governance structures and decision-making processes. Through a comprehensive case study approach, this research delves into the operations, strategies, and challenges faced by INGOs in enhancing their role in global governance. The first chapter provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definitions of key terms. Chapter two presents a detailed literature review encompassing ten key themes related to the role of non-state actors and global governance. This review synthesizes existing scholarly insights and identifies gaps in the literature, setting the foundation for the empirical investigation. Chapter three elucidates the research methodology employed in this study, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. Through a robust methodology, this research aims to gather empirical evidence to support its findings and conclusions. Chapter four presents a detailed discussion of the empirical findings derived from the case study of selected INGOs. This chapter explores the strategies, impact, and challenges faced by INGOs in influencing global governance structures and policies.
