Non-state actors have become increasingly influential in shaping global governance, challenging the traditional state-centric system. This thesis examines the diverse roles played by non-state actors in the global governance landscape, focusing on their impact on decision-making processes, policy implementation, and norm-setting. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study explores the evolving nature of global governance and the growing significance of non-state actors in this arena. The research methodology involves a qualitative analysis of case studies and interviews with key stakeholders to provide a nuanced understanding of how non-state actors operate within the global governance framework. The findings of this study reveal that non-state actors, such as multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, and international institutions, play crucial roles in shaping global governance outcomes. These actors often fill governance gaps left by states and contribute to the development and implementation of international norms and standards. However, their influence is not without challenges, as issues of accountability, legitimacy, and representation continue to be debated within the global governance architecture.
