Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This study investigates the impact of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health in young adults through a comparative analysis. Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, and dietary habits play a crucial role in its development and prevention. Plant-based diets, which emphasize the consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and legumes while limiting animal products, have been associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease. However, the specific effects of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health in young adults remain unclear, warranting further research. The study aims to address this research gap by comparing the cardiovascular health outcomes of young adults following plant-based diets with those following traditional omnivorous diets. The research will involve a comprehensive literature review to examine existing evidence on the impact of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health. Additionally, a cross-sectional study will be conducted to assess the cardiovascular health status of young adults following different dietary patterns. The methodology will include the recruitment of a sample population of young adults aged 18-30 years, who will be categorized into plant-based and omnivorous diet groups. Data collection will involve dietary assessments, physical examinations, biochemical analyses, and cardiovascular risk factor assessments. Statistical analyses will be conducted to compare cardiovascular health parameters between the two diet groups and identify any significant differences. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the relationship between plant-based diets and cardiovascular health in young adults. By comparing the cardiovascular health outcomes of individuals following different dietary patterns, the study aims to elucidate the potential benefits of plant-based diets in preventing cardiovascular disease among young adults. The results will contribute to the existing body of knowledge on dietary interventions for cardiovascular health and inform public health initiatives aimed at promoting healthy eating habits among young adults. In conclusion, this comparative study on the impact of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health in young adults holds significant implications for public health and preventive medicine. The findings are expected to highlight the potential of plant-based diets as a preventive strategy against cardiovascular disease and offer insights for healthcare professionals, policymakers, and individuals seeking to improve their cardiovascular health through dietary modifications.
