Abstract
This thesis explores the impact of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health among young adults. The study aims to investigate how adopting a plant-based diet can influence various cardiovascular health markers in the young adult population. The research is motivated by the increasing prevalence of cardiovascular diseases among young adults globally and the growing interest in plant-based diets as a potential preventive and therapeutic approach. The literature review revealed that plant-based diets, characterized by high consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds, have been associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and atherosclerosis. However, there is limited research focusing specifically on the effects of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health among young adults. The methodology chapter outlines a mixed-methods approach, including a cross-sectional survey and dietary assessment, to collect data on dietary patterns, cardiovascular health markers, and lifestyle factors among young adults following different dietary patterns. Statistical analysis techniques such as regression analysis and correlation analysis will be employed to examine the relationships between plant-based diet adherence and cardiovascular health outcomes. The findings from the study are expected to provide valuable insights into the potential benefits of plant-based diets for cardiovascular health among young adults. In conclusion, this thesis contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the relationship between plant-based diets and cardiovascular health, specifically among young adults. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects of plant-based diets on cardiovascular health outcomes and to address potential limitations of the current study.
