The escalating prevalence of poor dietary habits among urban adolescents presents a significant public health concern, necessitating targeted interventions to promote healthier eating behaviors within this demographic. This study aims to evaluate the impact of community-based nutrition education on the dietary habits of adolescents aged 12 to 18 years residing in metropolitan areas. The specific objectives include assessing baseline dietary practices, implementing a structured community nutrition education program, and measuring subsequent changes in dietary behaviors, nutritional knowledge, and attitudes. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a control group, the research was conducted in two urban communities with nearly identical socio-economic profiles. The study population comprised 400 adolescents, with 200 allocated to the intervention group and 200 to the control group, selected through stratified random sampling based on school enrollment records. Data collection instruments included a validated Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), a structured Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) survey, and focus group discussion guides. Pre- and post-intervention data were collected over six months, with qualitative data analyzed thematically and quantitative data subjected to paired t-tests and multiple regression analysis using SPSS version 26.
