This thesis focuses on the contributions of the Agricultural Development Programmes of the government of Imo State towards economic growth and development in the State between 1999 and 2007. The study traces the genesis and stages of ADP from the old Eastern region of Nigeria up till the creation of Imo State in 1976 and the birth of Imo State Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) in 1976. Efforts of diverse ADPs up till the eve of the study’s take off year were also examined. Against this background, with the used of both primary and secondary sources and the adoption of the thematic analytic and eclectic approach, the study argue that ADPs in Imo State from 1999-2007 had some constraints.
