Diplomacy plays a crucial role in resolving international conflicts, serving as a tool for communication, negotiation, and peaceful resolution. This thesis examines the significance of diplomacy in resolving international conflicts through a case study of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The crisis, which occurred in October 1962, marked a critical moment in the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. Through an analysis of historical documents, diplomatic correspondence, and scholarly literature, this research investigates the diplomatic strategies employed by key actors during the Cuban Missile Crisis and their impact on conflict resolution. The introductory chapter provides a background to the study, highlights the problem statement, outlines the objectives, discusses the limitations and scope of the study, underscores the significance of the research, and presents the structure of the thesis. Chapter two conducts a comprehensive literature review covering ten key themes related to diplomacy, international conflicts, negotiation strategies, and historical case studies. Chapter three delves into the research methodology, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and analysis procedures employed in this study.
