The introductory chapter sets the stage by presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definitions of key terms. Chapter two conducts a detailed literature review encompassing ten key themes related to colonialism, indigenous peoples, post-colonial studies, and the Nigerian context.
