Abstract
This research project investigates the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, examining the complex political, economic, and social factors that contributed to its dissolution. Through an analysis of historical documents, scholarly literature, and firsthand accounts, the study explores key events and decisions that led to the unraveling of the Soviet state. Additionally, the project examines the consequences of the Soviet collapse on the newly independent states, regional dynamics in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and global geopolitics. By unraveling the causes and implications of this historic event, the research aims to provide insights into the dynamics of state collapse and the challenges of post-Soviet transitions.
