Abstract
Childhood obesity and sedentary lifestyles are major public health concerns that can lead to various health problems. Schools play a vital role in promoting healthy behaviors through physical education (PE) curricula. This study aims to investigate the impact of an enhanced PE curriculum on fostering healthy lifestyle behaviors among elementary school children. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, utilizing accelerometers, surveys, focus groups, and interviews to assess changes in physical activity levels, dietary habits, and attitudes towards health.
The study will compare the outcomes of students participating in the enhanced PE curriculum, which incorporates physical activity, nutrition education, and behavioral interventions, with those following the standard curriculum. By evaluating the effectiveness of the comprehensive PE curriculum, this research seeks to contribute to the understanding of strategies for promoting positive health behaviors in children. The findings will inform the development of school-based interventions and provide insights for educators and policymakers to design
