Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This thesis investigates the impact of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on cardiovascular health in sedentary adults. Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with sedentary lifestyles contributing significantly to the development of these conditions. HIIT has gained popularity in recent years for its potential to improve cardiovascular fitness in a time-efficient manner. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of HIIT in improving cardiovascular health parameters, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and aerobic capacity, among sedentary adults. The research methodology involves a randomized controlled trial design, where sedentary adults will be randomly assigned to either an HIIT intervention group or a control group. The HIIT intervention will consist of structured exercise sessions involving short bursts of high-intensity exercise alternated with periods of rest or low-intensity exercise. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will be conducted to measure changes in cardiovascular health parameters between the two groups. The literature review provides a comprehensive overview of existing research on HIIT and its effects on cardiovascular health. Key findings from previous studies suggest that HIIT can lead to significant improvements in cardiovascular fitness, including increased aerobic capacity and reduced risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. The review also explores the physiological mechanisms underlying the benefits of HIIT on cardiovascular health. The results of this study will contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the use of HIIT as an effective intervention for improving cardiovascular health in sedentary adults. Findings from this research may have implications for public health initiatives aimed at promoting physical activity and reducing the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in sedentary populations. In conclusion, this thesis highlights the potential of HIIT as a promising strategy for enhancing cardiovascular health outcomes in sedentary adults. By elucidating the impact of HIIT on key cardiovascular parameters, this research aims to provide valuable insights into the development of targeted exercise interventions to improve overall cardiovascular fitness and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases in sedentary populations.
