Despite numerous initiatives aimed at increasing physical activity among adolescents, rates of inactivity remain alarmingly high, contributing to rising incidences of obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and psychological issues within this demographic. The proliferation of mobile technology presents an opportunity to address these challenges by leveraging adolescent engagement with smartphones through targeted applications that promote and facilitate physical activity. This research aims to develop, implement, and evaluate a mobile application designed to motivate adolescents to incorporate regular physical activity into their routines, thereby improving their overall health outcomes. The specific objectives are to (1) identify behavioral determinants influencing adolescents' physical activity levels, (2) design an engaging, user-centered mobile app grounded in behavior change theories, particularly the Social Cognitive Theory and the Self-Determination Theory, and (3) assess the effectiveness of the app in enhancing physical activity levels among adolescents.
