SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
This research activity examines the risk and protective factors associated with physical and mental health outcomes among informal caregivers (CGs) and their gay and lesbian elder care recipients (CRs), both those living with AIDS and facing other chronic illness. This study is examining the dyadic relationship between caregivers and care recipients, and how it influences positive and negative physical and mental health outcomes for both members of the caregiving dyad. In addition, this research will examine whether the care recipients and caregivers health condition (AIDS vs. non-AIDS) differentiates how risk and protective factors, including dyadic relationship variables, are associated with such outcomes.
