Thesis Abstract

Abstract
This research project aims to investigate the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students towards family planning in selected schools. Family planning is a crucial aspect of reproductive health, and understanding the perceptions and behaviors of young girls towards this topic is essential for promoting healthy decision-making and well-being. The study will utilize a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and focus group discussions to gather comprehensive data. The research will be conducted in several secondary schools, with a diverse sample of female students participating in the study. Surveys will be administered to collect quantitative data on students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to family planning. These surveys will cover topics such as contraceptive use, awareness of family planning methods, and perceptions of the importance of family planning in their lives. In addition to the surveys, focus group discussions will be conducted to provide a deeper understanding of the factors influencing students' attitudes towards family planning. These discussions will allow for a more nuanced exploration of cultural, social, and personal beliefs that may impact students' decisions regarding family planning. By combining quantitative and qualitative data, the study aims to paint a comprehensive picture of the attitudes and practices of female secondary school students in relation to family planning. The findings of this research project will have implications for policymakers, educators, and healthcare providers working in the field of reproductive health. Understanding the perspectives of young girls towards family planning can inform the development of targeted interventions and educational programs to promote healthy behaviors and empower young women to make informed choices about their reproductive health. Overall, this study seeks to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on family planning attitudes and practices among female secondary school students. By shedding light on the factors influencing young girls' decisions regarding family planning, the research aims to support efforts to improve reproductive health outcomes and promote well-being among adolescent girls.
