The quality of groundwater in urban areas has become a matter of utmost concern due to potential contamination from various anthropogenic activities. This study focuses on assessing the groundwater quality in a specific urban area, with a specific emphasis on heavy metal contamination. The research aims to identify the sources and levels of heavy metal pollutants in the groundwater, analyze their potential risks to human health and the environment, and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard the water resources. Chapter One provides the introduction to the study, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the thesis, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review consisting of ten key items that explore previous studies and findings related to groundwater quality assessment, heavy metal contamination, urban water management, and remediation techniques. Chapter Three details the research methodology employed in this study, including the study area description, sampling techniques, laboratory analysis methods, data collection procedures, and statistical tools used for data analysis.
