Thesis Abstract

**Abstract
**
This research project aims to investigate the intricate relationship between gut microbiota and food metabolism and its implications for human health and disease. The human gut harbors a diverse community of microorganisms that play a crucial role in nutrient metabolism, immune function, and overall health. Recent advancements in microbiome research have highlighted the significance of gut microbiota in modulating various metabolic processes, including energy extraction, nutrient absorption, and metabolism of dietary components. This study will employ state-of-the-art sequencing techniques and bioinformatics analysis to characterize the composition and function of gut microbiota in relation to food metabolism. Furthermore, it will explore how dysbiosis, or imbalance in gut microbiota, may contribute to the development of metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and inflammatory bowel diseases. The findings from this research have the potential to shed light on novel strategies for promoting gut health and preventing metabolic diseases through dietary interventions and microbiome-targeted therapies.
