This study investigates the comparative efficacy, stylistic diversity, artistic authenticity, and contextual relevance of traditional and digital painting methods, aiming to illuminate their respective contributions and interrelations within modern artistic landscapes. The primary objectives are to analyze the technical differences, aesthetic outcomes, and audience perceptions associated with each technique, as well as to explore how artists navigate between these modes of practice in their creative processes. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study combines qualitative explorations with quantitative measurements to generate comprehensive insights. The qualitative component involves thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews with 30 artists—15 predominantly engaged in traditional painting and 15 actively integrating digital media—recruited through purposive sampling from major art residencies and galleries across the metropolitan region.
