Abstract
This thesis investigates the implementation of sustainable practices in property management, with a focus on residential buildings. The study aims to analyze the current state of sustainability initiatives in property management and identify challenges and opportunities for integrating sustainable practices in the management of residential buildings. The research methodology employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with property managers, residents, and sustainability experts, along with quantitative data analysis of energy consumption and waste management practices. The findings reveal that while there is a growing awareness of the importance of sustainability in property management, there are significant barriers to the widespread adoption of sustainable practices in residential buildings. These barriers include financial constraints, lack of knowledge and expertise, and resistance to change among stakeholders. However, the study also identifies several successful case studies of sustainable property management, highlighting the potential benefits in terms of cost savings, environmental impact, and resident satisfaction. The thesis concludes with recommendations for overcoming barriers to sustainability in property management and outlines a framework for implementing sustainable practices in residential buildings. Overall, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on sustainable property management and provides practical insights for property managers, policymakers, and other stakeholders in the real estate industry.
