Abstract
This project examines the environmental impacts of different family and social dynamics. It explores how factors like family size, composition, lifestyle choices, and social networks can influence environmental footprints. Larger or multi-generational families may have higher resource and energy needs compared to smaller nuclear families. Traditional versus modern family structures may also impact consumption patterns. Additionally, social influences from peers, community groups, religious organizations, and cultural norms can shape environmentally significant behaviors around transportation, diet, recreation, and consumerism. The research aims to quantify these impacts using available metrics and identify opportunities for more sustainable family and social systems.
