Urbanization is a global phenomenon that significantly alters natural landscapes and ecosystems, leading to various environmental challenges. This study aims to investigate the impact of urbanization on local biodiversity and ecosystem services in a specific region. The specific objectives are to assess changes in biodiversity patterns, identify key ecosystem services affected by urbanization, analyze the drivers of urbanization impacting biodiversity, and propose sustainable management strategies. The research methodology involves a combination of field surveys, remote sensing techniques, and GIS analysis to quantify changes in land use patterns, vegetation cover, and species diversity. A systematic sampling approach will be employed to collect data on plant and animal species, habitat characteristics, and ecosystem services provision. Statistical analysis and modeling techniques will be used to evaluate the relationships between urbanization intensity and biodiversity parameters. The literature review highlights the global trends of urbanization and its impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services. Key concepts such as habitat fragmentation, pollution, invasive species, and urban sprawl will be discussed in relation to their effects on local ecosystems. Case studies from similar regions will be examined to provide comparative insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with urban development.
