Urban green spaces play a crucial role in fostering biodiversity conservation and mitigating the urban heat island effect in cities. This thesis investigates the impact of urban green spaces on these two interconnected aspects of urban environments. The study begins with an examination of the current state of urban green spaces and the challenges faced in maintaining biodiversity and addressing the urban heat island effect. By conducting a comprehensive literature review, this research explores the existing knowledge and gaps in understanding the relationship between urban green spaces, biodiversity conservation, and the urban heat island effect. The methodology employed in this study includes field surveys, data collection, and analysis to assess the biodiversity within urban green spaces and measure their cooling effect on the surrounding areas.
