Abstract


This study examines the various environmental impacts associated with different dietary patterns and food systems. Key areas of analysis include greenhouse gas emissions, land and water usage, pollution levels, biodiversity loss, and other environmental consequences linked to the production, processing, packaging, transportation, and disposal of different foods. Comparisons are made between standard Western diets high in meat and processed foods versus more plant-based diets, as well as between conventional industrial agriculture versus organic, local, and regenerative food systems. The goal is to better understand the environmental tradeoffs of various dietary choices and how shifting consumption patterns could help promote more sustainable food systems.
