Construction projects are vital for the development of infrastructure in Nigeria. However, delays in project delivery have been a major challenge plaguing the construction industry in the country. This research aims to investigate the effects of construction delays on project delivery in Nigeria. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of project data and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in the construction industry. A sample of construction projects across different sectors in Nigeria will be selected for analysis. The quantitative analysis will focus on identifying the common causes of delays in construction projects, such as poor planning, inadequate funding, changes in design, and delays in material delivery. Through qualitative interviews with project managers, contractors, and government officials, the study will explore the impacts of construction delays on project delivery. These interviews will provide insight into the specific challenges faced by different stakeholders in the construction industry and the strategies they employ to mitigate delays. Additionally, the qualitative data will help in understanding the broader implications of delays on project cost, quality, and overall success.
