Abstract
The rapid growth of the electronics industry has led to increasing amounts of electronic waste (e-waste) being generated worldwide each year. E-waste contains numerous toxic and hazardous chemicals that can pollute the environment if not properly managed and disposed of. This project aims to analyze the sources and impacts of chemical pollution from e-waste, and propose strategies to reduce it. Potential solutions that will be explored include implementing extended producer responsibility programs, improving e-waste collection and recycling infrastructure, promoting design for environment in electronics, and increasing awareness about safe e-waste disposal. The overall goal is to develop an action plan for transitioning to a more sustainable electronics industry and reducing risks to human health and the environment from toxic e-waste.
