Thesis Abstract

Abstract

The current linear "take, make, dispose" model of production and consumption relies on finite resources and results in large amounts of waste. This unsustainable system needs to transition to a circular economy approach that is restorative and regenerative by design. This project aims to explore how promoting the principles of the circular economy can help reduce consumption and waste. Key circular strategies like longer product lifecycles, recycling, and reusing materials will be examined. Case studies of companies implementing circular business models will also be analyzed. The goal is to demonstrate how the circular economy is an innovative solution to make our economy sustainable over the long run.
