Abstract
This project examines strategies for improving urban air quality through the implementation of emissions standards. Air pollution in cities poses significant risks to human health and the environment. Vehicle emissions, power plant emissions, and other industrial sources contribute to high levels of particulate matter and ground-level ozone in many urban areas. This project analyzes the health impacts of poor air quality and reviews emissions standards and regulations implemented in various cities worldwide. Case studies are presented on the effects of implementing and enforcing emissions standards on air pollutant levels. The project concludes with recommendations on developing and strengthening emissions standards to effectively improve urban air quality.
